ABOUT US
Oxford Women in Finance, founded in 2018, aims to unite ambitious women who share a passion for finance. Our growing membership is comprised of students from all backgrounds and degrees, providing an exciting opportunity for members to expand their network and develop new skills for a career in financial services. As one of the largest female run societies in Oxford, we strive to create a supportive community where women can learn from and inspire one another, and we host a variety of events throughout the year to help us achieve that goal.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to empower women seeking a career in finance by improving application transparency and connecting them with current industry professionals. In the UK, female representation in the finance sector is 35%. Likewise, at the University of Oxford, the percentage of women on finance related courses is shockingly low, with only 34.2% studying Economics and Management and 27.8% for Mathematics as of 2022. These statistics need to increase, making our mission all the more important.
